Today is Sunday May 11, 2008

Hi, my name is Antonio Iafolla, I live in Mississauga Ontario with my wife and our two sons, both graduating from University and starting their own life. I must admit, since I came to Canada, in 1967, I have always been attracted to Real Estate. In fact short after, while I was down from a bad business venture, I bought my first house. Paid $ 70,000 (which translated in today $$$ would be approximately $ 800,000) with no money and a lot of will to succeed; I kept it for 25 years and while owning it, I bought and resold other properties; this investing by selling and buying properties made me decide to become a licensed Real Estate Agent.

 

Was that a move!!! It was the icing on the cake, not only I did extremely well as a Real Estate Agent but in 1995 I decided to leave a major Franchise to start my own Brokerage Company. Why? Money, I could make more of it. Today we run a dynamic and progressive company with several agents.

 

...But Real Estate is changing, consumers are changing. More and more of them are self doers and as such are avid to know on how to sell their own house, they wish to save as much as possible of the commission they would otherwise have to pay. Let me tell you I still have my clients, that have now become investors and the use my skills not only to speculate but to enlarge their real estate holdings and those are individuals that prefer to have someone representing them in all the transaction they don't have time to do it by themselves.

 

One of the many things I learned trough out my years in sales is that success is dictated by being able to change with times.

 

During 2003 I decided to put on paper what I had learned from years of in investing and selling houses for myself, for my clients, attending various real estate seminars and discussing unusual real estate situations with lawyers. After a long year of researches and writing I finished writing "Selling your house", the first of a series of books dealing with real estate and a best seller that gives the inside on what it is needed to sell a property and how to handle the process.

.. a bit more about Antonio... what did I do before 1989? ... While I was buying and selling various properties I was in sales, my heart has always been set on selling and coaching on how to sell and as such I was a Sales Manager directing and teaching a large sales force for a multinational...
